The Euphrates Institute

Our purpose is to awaken humanity to our Oneness and to inspire them to act therefrom.

We do this by helping citizens realize their full potential as visionary changemakers through experiential education and by cultivating global and local communities of practice.

We envision a world of empowered and engaged global citizens using their collective knowledge and wisdom to collaborate and create change. If you share our vision, we'd love for you to join us!

The Euphrates Institute, based in Redding, California, focuses on informing people about our interconnectedness, inspiring them with new models of solutions to global issues, and transforming ourselves and others by gaining the tools to be empowered agents of change.

We have 25 communities of practice around the world. These communities of change makers are working locally to build relationships with the so-called "other," educate people about peace, and transform enemies into friends. In short, they are participating locally and contributing globally to create a more peaceful world.
"The African proverb, 'When you pray, move your feet,' is, to us, symbolic of the work that Euphrates does. We feel it is a potent answer, replete with possibilities, for transforming the great challenges of our times. Inspired by the vision of peace-building from the grassroots level, we find Euphrates to be a wonderful healing response to the clamor that seeks to divide us." Teke and Joey Hoffman, Euphrates' supporters

"Euphrates engages me in a hope for our world beyond division and war itself." Emily Odell, Euphrates trip participant

"I am amazed that in our short few years of existence in Redding, we are making inroads in community awareness and stimulating increasing openness to dialogue. I am learning that every activity our chapter does has a cumulative impact in ways we don't always appreciate until later." Beth Ann Thompson, Chapter member in Redding, California, USA

"I have experienced personal transformation through interacting with Euphrates' global family. Local leaders from across continents share their struggles, challenges and achievements." Sohini Jana, Chapter Leader in Kolkata, India

"Our membership in the Euphrates Chapters gives us more courage to work at an international level. We exchange our success stories and our pain with other Chapters and learn from their wisdom." Tareq al-Tamimi, Chapter Leader in Hebron, Palestine
