For over 20 years Siskiyou Ice Rink has been providing our local community and visitors with outstanding winter recreation activities and experiences.  We are so grateful for the support provided by Giving Tuesday. Your donations will enable us to continue to offer ice skating activities this season and in the future. Please consider supporting winter recreation and the Siskiyou Ice Rink.

Friends Of the Rink (FOR) is a grass-roots nonprofit organization made up of individuals from Mt. Shasta and surrounding communities. The FOR team is passionate about skating, community and the Siskiyou Ice Rink. FOR was established both to support the management of the Siskiyou Ice Rink and to raise funds for improvements at the rink.

The need for a benevolent organization to help support the Mt. Shasta Recreation and Parks District in facilitating and maintaining the Siskiyou Ice Rink became clear early in the rink's development. Beginning as a rink advisory committee, FOR soon evolved into a charitable group, operating under the umbrella of the Associated Charitable Resource of South Siskiyou (ACROSS).

ACROSS was established in the year 2000 as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation, primarily to enhance the communities of the Shasta Cascade region by enabling charitable groups such as Friends of the Rink.

FOR members and supporters have always been devoted to the welfare of the rink, and generous with their energy, time and talents. For the past 20 years FOR has worked with participating individuals and organizations to raise funds to ensure the successful operation of Siskiyou Ice Rink. Thanks to generous contributions, the rink has been expanded to a NHL regulation-sized rink. Other funded improvements include the purchase of a Zamboni, new dasher boards, improved electrical wiring, lighting and sound, improved drainage, and new skate sharpening equipment.

FOR has assisted the rink in numerous capacities, including: raising funds for youth and adult hockey programs and school field trip opportunities; providing volunteers and qualified individuals to assist with rink operations; helping to organize special events at the rink; organizing and providing specialized fundraising events, and helping to promote the rink and its activities.
