What is Children's Legacy Center?

The Children's Legacy Center, also known as Arch Collaborative, exists to give hope, provide healing, and ensure justice for children and youth impacted by abuse, neglect, or other significant trauma.

The work done at the Children’s Legacy Center would not be possible without support from our donors, for which we are so grateful. Nearly 85% of our operational expenses are grant-funded and reimbursement-based, so donor dollars represent a minimum of five times their gift value.

For example, if you donate $100, we can utilize those funds multiple times, making that gift worth over $500 toward accomplishing the mission of the Children’s Legacy Center.

The Children’s Legacy Center (CLC) provides research-based, results-driven services to the Shasta County community, focusing on maximizing impact for children and families.

Forensic Interviewing - When there is an investigation into a crime against a child, law enforcement refers the child and family to our children's advocacy center. In our child-friendly facility, children share their experience with a forensic interviewer while investigators, social workers, prosecutors, advocates, and physicians observe from a separate room. This process reduces the number of times a child must recount their experience and minimizes trauma through the investigation. In communities where this model is present, prosecution rates increase by 97% and the cost of an investigation is reduced by over $1,000.

Counseling Services - The Center for Resilience at CLC offers behavioral health services for children, youth, and their non-offending family members. We use a holistic, trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic approach focused on resilience and healing. This facility is open to referrals for therapy to the community and serves hundreds of clients each month.

Advocacy - Family advocates provide support to parents and caregivers during forensic interviews or medical exams, explaining the legal process, offering emotional support, and connecting families with necessary resources. They also provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and parenting education.

Medical Services - Our forensic medical exam space allows medical partners to conduct child-centered medical assessments. The exams are facilitated with the child’s consent, focusing on physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as child sex trafficking, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment. We are honored to partner with Mercy Medical Center Redding's Forensic Care team to provide these essential services.

Regional Pilot Program & Research Initiative - The Children’s Legacy Center, in partnership with the State of California’s Child Trafficking Unit, is leading a comprehensive regional pilot program to strengthen the response to child exploitation in Northern California’s rural counties. Through coordinated, multi-county collaboration, this initiative identifies systemic challenges, recommends solutions, and connects agencies to better serve at-risk and exploited youth. Guided by the Department of Innovative Research, the program integrates research and evaluation to generate evidence-based insights on trauma, exploitation, and resilience—informing program design, policy, and systems change to improve outcomes for children and families.

What is Arch Collaborative?

One SAFE Place and Children’s Legacy Center are separate legal entities. Arch Collaborative is a fictitious business name (DBA) of Children’s Legacy Center. Under the DBA Arch Collaborative and a signed management services agreement, Children’s Legacy Center assists One SAFE Place with operations and enhances OSP’s impact. By creating Arch Collaborative and working alongside other organizations with similar heartbeats, we have created a network of organizations that respond effectively to trauma, violence, and exploitation in our community while maintaining the legal status of each organization.

Arch Collaborative represents more than a rebranded name, it speaks to our determination to partner well to ensure a holistic continuum of care to reach more individuals and respond to emerging needs with greater agility. We’re grateful for the support of our community and excited to continue building a safer, more supportive Shasta County.
