Good News Rescue Mission

Founded in 1964 by a group of concerned Christians, the Good News Rescue Mission has since offered a hand up out of emotional, physical and spiritual poverty to over thirteen thousand individuals. At the heart of everything we do at the Mission is our belief that every man, woman, and child is of utmost value and worth extending our hands towards. With your help we offer a hand-up, not a handout, for those ready to address the obstacles in their lives and find true freedom from the things holding them back.

Services include:

• Emergency Services: Overnight Shelter for up to 389, Three hot meals 7 days a week, Case management and Housing Navigation, Showers, Toiletries/Hygiene Products, Laundry Services, Clothing Closet, Cooling/Heating Center during Inclement Weather, and Daily Chapel Services, Bible Studies, and Mentorship.
• Residential Drug & Alcohol Recovery Program: A 6-18 month live-in recovery program with room for 50 men and 24 women with children. The program utilizes the nationally recognized Genesis Recovery curriculum which helps people identify and properly address the root causes of their addiction and then helps address the behavioral challenges. 
• Academic Center: A fully equiped job readiness program where our Life Coach takes people through the steps necessary to become financially self-sufficient in life. This includes job search assistance, resume preparation, job interview training, professional clothes closet, one-on-one education tutoring, career advising, and academic assistance.
• Chapel Services: Daily chapel services are conducted each evening after dinner and hosted by a rotating schedule of local church congregations. Chapel services are not mandatory to receive services, but many choose to listen and participate to the variety of music and messages. Our Campus Pastor and local church volunteers also lead Bible studies and one-on-one spiritual mentorship throughout the week.
