Headwaters Trail Runs’ goal for Giving Tuesday is to raise $10,000 to purchase race equipment and offset its annual expenses to ensure the event continues to provide a high-quality experience for all participants and continues to be a successful fundraiser for it’s beneficiary, the Mount Shasta High School Cross-Country and Track & Field programs.  

Headwaters Trail Runs is a trail running event in Mount Shasta, CA featuring three challenging and scenic race distances that begin and end at Lake Siskiyou.  Established in 2013, the event began to promote the camaraderie of trail running and outdoor recreation, to celebrate health and wellness, to facilitate setting and achieving personal goals, and to build community around these shared values.  To this end, it has attracted participants from 29 states, 5 international countries, and has had finishers aged 7 to 82 years old and of all experience levels from beginner to veteran trail runners.  

Headwaters Trail Runs donates a portion of its annual proceeds to the Mount Shasta High School cross-country and track & field programs.

Headwaters Trail Runs is organized and directed solely by volunteer hours each year.

Headwaters Trail Runs operates as a charitable organization under the umbrella of the Associated Charitable Resource of South Siskiyou (ACROSS).  ACROSS established itself in 2000 as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose primary goal is to enable charitable groups to enhance communities across the Shasta Cascade region.
