Madrone Hospice Inc

Madrone Hospice is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care and support to individuals and families throughout Siskiyou County during some of life’s most difficult moments. For decades, Madrone has been part of the local community, helping patients and their loved ones navigate serious illness, end-of-life care, grief, and the many challenges that come with these experiences.

At the heart of Madrone’s work is a simple belief: every person deserves comfort, dignity, choice, and the opportunity to live as fully as possible for as long as possible. Hospice care is focused on quality of life rather than curative treatment. Our interdisciplinary team works with patients and families to manage pain and other symptoms, provide emotional and spiritual support, and honor each individual’s wishes for their care. Hospice services can be provided in a patient’s home or at The Madrone House, our community-based home dedicated to providing a peaceful and supportive setting for those nearing the end of life.

Madrone also provides supportive care for individuals who may not yet be eligible for hospice or who are not ready to begin hospice services. This patient- and family-centered care focuses on relieving suffering, managing symptoms, and supporting quality of life throughout serious illness.

Our commitment extends beyond the patient. Madrone provides grief support and counseling to family members, friends, and community members experiencing loss. These services are offered free of charge and are available to anyone in the community, regardless of whether their loved one received care from Madrone Hospice.

Madrone’s mission also reaches beyond hospice through our Senior Services programs, which provide a variety of resources and activities to older adults at no charge. These programs are made possible through community donations, grants, and support from the City of Yreka.

The Madrone House, our hospice residence, provides a place of shelter, care, and comfort for patients who need additional support during their final days. Professional nursing staff work alongside family and friends to create an environment where patients can be surrounded by the people and things that matter most to them.

Our work is also supported by the Madrone’s Hospice Shop and Heartisan Boutique in downtown Yreka are primarily staffed by volunteers, with proceeds helping support The Madrone House and the care we provide.

Madrone Hospice is a community organization built around kindness, compassion, dignity, and connection. We walk alongside patients and families when they need support most—and remain committed to ensuring that no one in our community has to face the end-of-life journey alone.
