Mt Shasta Area Audubon Society

Mt. Shasta Audubon is proud to be your local Audubon Chapter raising awareness about bird and wildlife conservation! We hosted over 1,000 people in 2026 at our field trips, talks, and stewardship events and created habitat uplift for birds in the form of numerous bird box installations as well as the installation of pollinator gardens and invasive weed pulls throughout Siskiyou County. Activities included scores of field trips, fun and educational presentations ranging on topics from birds, butterflies and dragonflies to native plants, pollinators and the importance of dark skies. Our members and volunteers conduct annual Christmas Bird Counts (the longest running citizen science database in the world) in 3 different cities.  Members also conduct surveys and data collection on private and public lands to support landowners and bird conservation.  We have been excited to support local teachers by providing subject matter experts on field trips to engage students as well as funding and mentoring for senior science projects.  

Your donation supports all of the above and moving foward we are excited to build more engagement and support for students by offering more outdoor learning opportunities, science funding and scholarships for local high school seniors interested in pursuing higher education in the natural sciences.
