Nor Cal Pack Burros

NorCal Pack burros is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. We promote pack burros racing, packing with burros, education about the health, care, and ownership of burros.

Pack burro racing is an incredible sport! Primarily found in Colorado, Arizona, California, and New Mexico. Pack Burro Racing is rooted in the various western states' mining histories. In the days of mining, Colorado, miners would take donkeys/burros through the mountains of Colorado. The miners would not ride their burros due to the amount of supplies they were carrying, and so they would walk, leading their donkey. These races are to commemorate the miners and their burros.
