Acton Academy Redding

Acton Academy Redding is a nonprofit, learner-driven educational community empowering young people to become curious, capable, and courageous individuals who are prepared to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Serving learners from approximately ages 5 through 18, Acton offers a unique alternative to traditional education. Rather than simply asking students to memorize information, our learners are challenged to think critically, solve real-world problems, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and take meaningful ownership of their education.

Through multi-age learning studios, Socratic discussions, self-paced academics, hands-on projects, entrepreneurship, apprenticeships, and our Hero’s Journey framework, learners develop not only academic skills but also independence, perseverance, leadership, responsibility, and character.

At the heart of Acton Academy Redding is the belief that every young person has unique gifts and the potential to use those gifts to make a meaningful difference in the world. We strive to create a close-knit community where learners are known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming.

Community support helps us expand access to this innovative educational model, provide need-based scholarships, strengthen our learning programs, improve our campus and outdoor spaces, and give more North State children the opportunity to receive an education designed for real life.
