Redding Ballet Theatre

Redding Ballet Theatre was founded in 2023 to bring high-quality classical ballet to the North State while providing serious training and meaningful performance opportunities for dancers and artists of all ages and backgrounds. RBT presents full-length classical ballets and original works, including The Nutcracker and a Spring Festival of Theatre and Dance featuring student works and condensed classics like Alice in Wonderland and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In just three years, RBT has grown significantly, presenting sold-out productions and building partnerships with the Redding Arts Project, Shasta Symphony Orchestra, Ballet North Texas, and professional artists from across the country and around the world.

RBT’s collaboration with the Shasta Symphony Orchestra brings live orchestral accompaniment to ballet in the region. Through artistic excellence, education, mentorship, and expanded access, RBT helps young people develop discipline, confidence, creativity, and collaboration while strengthening the cultural life of Northern California.

RBT’s collaboration with the Shasta Symphony Orchestra brings live orchestral accompaniment to ballet in the region while also creating meaningful paid performance opportunities for North State professional musicians. Through artistic excellence, education, mentorship, and expanded access, RBT helps young people develop discipline, confidence, creativity, and collaboration while supporting working artists and strengthening the cultural life of Northern California.

Expanding access to the performing arts is central to our mission, particularly for students and communities facing financial barriers or other trauma. Through the From Dreams to Dance Scholarship Program, RBT is developing outreach programs and partnerships with organizations committed to providing children from underserved communities with opportunities for quality dance education, training, and performance.
