 Redemption Ride Equine Foundation, operating as, Momma Moss Mountain Wellness is a Northern California 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities through animal-assisted wellness, experiential learning, and compassionate outreach.

Founded with a commitment to supporting veterans through equine-assisted activities, our organization has grown to address the needs of children, families, and underserved rural communities throughout Shasta County.

We believe meaningful intervention begins with connection, not crisis.

Our Pawsitive Spirit & PACK Philosophy

Our Pawsitive Spirit school wellness initiative is built on the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, safe, and connected.

Through structured animal-assisted activities, social-emotional learning, and our signature Bailey's Challenge kindness initiative, we encourage empathy, belonging, emotional awareness, positive peer relationships, and resilience.

Our PACK-Informed Intervention Planning framework guides family engagement in targeted wellness services:

• P — Parent Partnership: Recognizing families and authorized caregivers as essential partners.

• A — Assessment of Individual Needs: Understanding each child's strengths, challenges, and developmental needs.

• C — Collaborative Goal Setting: Bringing students, families, educators, and facilitators together around meaningful goals.

• K — Keeping Families Connected: Encouraging communication, sharing progress, and supporting growth beyond individual sessions.

Our philosophy is simple: We do not work around families. We work with them.

We prioritize prevention before crisis, emotional safety, student dignity, animal welfare, and evidence-informed practices. We believe children deserve supportive environments where kindness is actively modeled, harmful behavior is addressed, and everyone has an opportunity to belong.

This North State Gives, your generosity will support four critical priorities:

Safer Equine Wellness Facilities: Improving our existing 50-foot round pen with appropriate footing, drainage, and surface preparation to create a safer, more reliable environment for participants and horses.

Affordable School Wellness Programming: Subsidizing Pawsitive Spirit visits and Bailey's Challenge activities so rural schools can access engaging, preventative social-emotional wellness opportunities regardless of limited school budgets.

Our Compassion Fund: Helping qualifying low-income families access essential animal care, including spay and neuter services, while supporting responsible pet ownership and preserving the human-animal bond.

Mobile Equine-Assisted Wellness: Building toward the purchase of a suitable horse trailer to expand our ability to bring equine-assisted activities directly to schools and community partners.
