We’re an independent, no-kill shelter. We are the safety net for pets and pet owners— and you are the reason that safety net holds strong.

OUR MISSION

“The Siskiyou Humane Society exists to improve the lives of companion animals by sheltering, rehabilitating, reducing pet overpopulation, and finding permanent homes. We promote responsible pet ownership, kindness to animals, and enhancement of human-animal relationships through education and outreach.”

As a private, 501(c)(3)non-profit animal welfare organization, the shelter receives no funding from government agencies or national humane organizations. Most of the funding comes from private donations, grant funding, and sales at the Humane Society’s Thrift Store in Mount Shasta.

Your gift is more than just a donation; it’s a lifeline. It gives us the strength to go further, ensuring that each pet, from the tiniest kitten to the most loyal senior dog, feels the love and protection they need. Together, we can make Siskiyou County a safer, happier place for animals and their families. 

This year, generous donors have pledged $23,000 in private matches, meaning every dollar you give will be matched dollar-for-dollar to help us reach our fundraising goal!

Each year, we invest $600 directly into every pet, of the hundreds, we serve in Siskiyou County.

Your support has a direct impact on the pets and people who depend on us every day:

• $30 → $60: Provides two months of food for a shelter pet

• $100 → $200: Covers a spay/neuter for a shelter cat or dog.

• $300 → $600 Funds supplies, medical care, and staff time for one animal that enters our doors. 

• $500 → $1,000: Supports a specialized medical case.

• $1,000 → $2,000: Keeps our shelter doors open for access to our pet food bank, adoption program, and more vital resources.
