We’re an independent, no-kill shelter that serves Siskiyou County, one of California’s most rural regions. That means we are the safety net — and you are the reason that safety net holds strong.

OUR MISSION

“The Siskiyou Humane Society exists to improve the lives of companion animals by sheltering, rehabilitating, reducing pet overpopulation and finding permanent homes. We promote responsible pet ownership, kindness to animals, and enhancement of human-animal relationships through education and outreach.”

As a private, 501(c)(3)non-profit animal welfare organization, the shelter receives no funding from government agencies or national humane organizations. Most of the funding comes from private donations, grant funding, and sales at the Humane Society’s Thrift Store in Mount Shasta.
