Give Local to Feed Local 2026

As the healthcare provider serving the greater Shingletown area, Shingletown Medical Center’s mission extends beyond medical care. We believe in supporting the overall health and well-being of our community. Social determinants of health—including access to nutritious food—play an important role in the health of our community.

Shingletown Medical Center is once again participating in North State Giving Tuesday (NSGT), and we are reaching out to ask for your support of the food center we manage for the greater Shingletown community.

The Shingletown Emergency Food & Outreach Center (SEFOC) provides essential groceries to families and individuals in need throughout our community. With the continued high cost of food and increasing demand for assistance, maintaining an adequate supply of food has become an ongoing challenge.

The cost of feeding our neighbors has increased dramatically. As an example, in 2024/2025, a $1,000 food order filled approximately one Honda SUV. Today, the cost has increased so much that $2,000 fills approximately one Honda SUV. The dollars simply do not go as far as they once did.

Last year, our community came together in an extraordinary way. Donations during the 2025 North State Giving Tuesday event totaled $4,704. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support that made this possible and we know we could not continue to assist the food disparities in our community.

Our goal for 2026 is to raise $10,000 through North State Giving Tuesday. These funds will help us purchase food and supplies needed to keep SEFOC operating and ensure that we can continue assisting our neighbors throughout the coming year.

Your donation will allow us to purchase critical food items that make a meaningful difference for families struggling to put food on their tables. Every contribution matters. Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or more, your generosity helps us keep food available for people in our community who need it.

Give Local. Feed Local. Help Our Neighbors. North State Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, December 1, 2026.

Online donations will be accepted from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 1 at: North State Giving Tuesday – Shingletown Medical Center
