Since 1987, Southeast Asian Christian Ministry (SEACM) has been a ministry extension of numerous local churches that offers hospitality and loving support to immigrant neighbors on their path to stability and belonging. Our mission is to welcome immigrants of all nationalities and assist them in becoming healthy, productive members of our community.

SEACM supports the immigrant population in Northern California by providing quality free immigration legal services and connections to local community resources. These services offer an affordable way for local foreign-born non-US citizens to comply with immigration law and contribute to the ability of individuals to provide for themselves and their families—honoring the inherent dignity and value of all people.

The Power of Welcome: Giving Without Boundaries

Every day at SEACM, I witness something extraordinary: strangers becoming neighbors, and neighbors becoming family.

It starts with a simple act; offering help without hesitation, without judgment. In a world that often asks, “Where are you from?” before asking “How can I help?”, we choose a different path.

SEACM is a small but deeply committed agency. We don’t ask about race, religion, or background, only how we can be of service. Our doors are open to anyone seeking support, whether they’ve just arrived in this country or have called it home for years. What matters to us is the person standing in front of us, not the labels the world may assign.

Welcoming strangers isn’t just a gesture; it’s a responsibility. It’s how we build trust, resilience, and community. When we give freely and receive openly, we create a space where everyone belongs. That’s the heart of SEACM’s mission: to walk alongside people, not ahead of them. Let’s continue to give freely, welcome openly, and stand together, because every stranger is just a friend we haven’t met yet.

So, let’s keep showing up for one another. Let’s keep believing in the power of kindness. Because every time we do, we make our community stronger—and our humanity brighter.
