There is something quietly healing about the sound of hooves against the ground, the scent of hay in the air, and the steady rhythm of a horse beneath you. At Stable Hands we believe the best place for the soul to find peace is on the back of a horse.

Every day, we see transformations that words can barely capture. A rider who arrives unsure of their balance leaves sitting taller, smiling wider, and believing in themselves again. The connection between human and horse doesn't just build strength - it restores confidence, trust, and hope.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to be part of that healing. Your support helps us care for our horses, provide adaptive riding lessons, and keep our arena a place of growth, acceptance, and joy for all who enter.

Adaptive Horsemanship

Our carefully selected horses and specially trained volunteers assist our certified therapeutic riding instructors in providing a challenging activity in a safe environment. Our lessons are held in an outdoor facility on private property. Horsemanship activities in the great outdoors provides individuals with disabilities, access to Nature and all the benefits of fresh air, sunshine and breezes.  Adaptive horsemanship activities include grooming, saddling, leading and warm up activities on the ground as well as mounted riding lessons in small groups. The benefits of adaptive horsemanship are improvements in strength, balance, confidence, communication and social skills. We operate from a beautiful outdoor facility located on private property. Horsemanship and riding skills are taught in mounted and dismounted sessions by PATH International certified riding instructors.

Horses helping Heroes

Horses helping Heroes is a program of Stable Hands where military Veterans can build strength and confidence while developing horsemanship skills. This program is built on the foundation of Veteran peer support and utilizes the camaraderie between Servicemen and women to provide a supportive environment. Trained Veteran volunteers assist with each session.
