Town of Shasta Interpretive Association

Supporting Shasta State Historic Park Since 1982

The Town of Shasta Interpretive Association was founded in 1982 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the educational and interpretive programs of Shasta State Historic Park.

For more than four decades, the Association has worked alongside California State Parks and our community to help preserve, share, and celebrate the remarkable history of the historic Town of Shasta. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of community members, volunteers, visitors, and friends of the park who make this work possible.

The Association helps provide interpretive and educational supplies for school groups and supports programs that bring Shasta’s history to life for visitors of all ages.

Throughout the year, we also help support special community events at the park, including the Poppy Festival in the spring, Jr. Ranger programs during the summer, historic Cemetery Tours in the fall, and Old-Time Holiday in the Park during the holiday season.

These programs provide opportunities for families, students, longtime residents, and first-time visitors to experience Shasta’s history in the place where it happened.
