Trails and Bikeways Council of Greater Redding

The Trails and Bikeways Council of Greater Redding is a non-profit charitable organization. Its members are local citizens who believe that trails and bikeways benefit the health, safety, and happiness of people, invigorate the local economy, and preserve valuable habitat and history. Our mission is to make these shared beliefs a reality by contributing to the development of a world-class trails and bikeways system that connects Redding neighborhoods with each other and with the surrounding area.

This is our second year of the TBC Legacy program which recognizes Trailblazers who have helped build, utililize, and promote trails in our community. This program provides the placement of a trail side Picnic table or bench at a trail vista point, trail junction, or other notable trail site.  

To enjoy a peaceful moment of relaxation and rejuvenation after your ride or walk at the Swasey Recreation Area, we invite you to explore the junction of the K’aysas Trail and the Back Pocket trail for a moment of rest and relaxation at the most recent bench memorializing Trailblazer, Naomi Haslam.

We are raising money so we can continue to place trail side picnic tables or benches at notable trail sites.  In addition we are interested in identifying trail blazers to memorialize. Please contact us our Facebook page to submit candidates for this program.

The Trails and Bikeways Council volunteers participate in a Quarterly Westside Clean Up and have partnered with local non-profit, Redding Trail Alliance, to support trail maintenance with the purchase of an e-bike. This valuable addition helps volunteers access more remote trails locations to perform trail maintenance and most recently add more signage to trails.
