Trinity County Friends of the Library

The Trinity County Free Library was established in 1916.  

Trinity County is suffering with increasing costs and flat revenue. Our county was poised to close all three libraries in 2024, but we were able to rally community support and donations to operate on a minimal basis. 

Since last year, Trinity County Friends of the Library has been donating to the County to pay the salaries of one part-time assistant in each of the three libraries, with reduced hours and days. We have paid for books, periodicals, media. labels, youth programs, microfiche, computers, shelves, etc. 

With your support, we can continue to keep the libraries updated with new books and supplies, as well as help to keep the doors of the three Trinity County Library sites - Weaverville, Hayfork and Trinity Center - open to the public now and into the future during this time of financial uncertainty for our county. 

We hope to obtain long term funding for library operations into the future.  We thank you for your support of the public libraries of Trinity County.
