Back to Camp 🌙✨

For more than fifty years, Whiskeytown Environmental School - “NEED Camp” to some and “WES Camp” to so many of us - has been a doorway to wonder. The Carr Fire closed that doorway for a time. Together, our community works to reopen it.

Already, equipment has begun to prepare the site. Designs are in motion to renew, rebuild and reimagine campus.

As the nonprofit philanthropic partner, WES Community envisions replacement cabins that include attached bathrooms and showers to make the overnight week long program possible again.

Today, classrooms come for daytime field trips to discover how nature has been rebuilding and regrowing ever since the fire. Tomorrow and beyond, a revived campus will make this possible for generations of students to come.

Let’s turn tragedy into a place that teaches resilience by example. Together, we can rebuild WES Camp - and send the next generation down the trail with wonder in their eyes and the future in their hands.
