Our Mission: 

At Youth Empowerment Siskiyou (Y.E.S.), we are dedicated to advocating for the potential and well-being of trauma-exposed, foster, and at-risk youth in Siskiyou County. Our mission is to provide pathways to brighter futures, nurturing the incredible potential within each young person.

We strive to build and support a strong local community in Siskiyou County, where every child, teen and young adult feels safe, loved and empowered.

Integrity. We strive to be transparent as an organization and encourage our community to hold us accountable in discontinuing the harm that has been caused in the past by child welfare organizations.

Statistics that Drive Our Purpose:

• Our CASA program recruits, screens and trains community volunteer advocates. In 2022-2023 there were 120 Total Children in Foster Care in Siskiyou County, 60 of those children were matched with a CASA, meaning more than 50% of the foster youth in our county do not have advocates to help them navigate the challenges of foster care. We strive to provide all of Siskiyou's foster youth with a CASA, that's why your support is so meaningful. Your donation can be used to fund outreach campaigns and recruitment efforts so that we are able to achieve this goal. Donations also help create a supportive environment for CASA volunteers by providing resources and mentorship for our volunteers. 

• Our Shelter program focuses on serving youth who have aged-out of the foster system and is currently home to 5 residents. Donations not only help provide residents with essential items such as winter clothing, job attire, and hygiene necessities, but they enable us to celebrate meaningful life events, like birthday parties and baby showers, for residents who have never experienced them before. Donations will also enable us to serve more youth this upcoming year.
• Our Supervised Visitation program has increased the amount of children served by over 150% from last year! Families from all walks of life are ordered to have supervised visitation for various reasons and we are so honored that we are able to provide this service for families of Siskiyou. Through donations we are able to create a comfortable and convenient visitation space for the families we serve.
• Camp Y.E.S. has transformed from a summer-only event into a year-round engagement program. Your support enables us to supply children with tents, camping equipment, and range of outdoor activities, including mountain biking, river rafting, fishing, and horseback riding. 
• We offer Case Management for youth in our community, facilitating access to essential resources like housing, rental assistance, job placement, referrals to other support services, and assistance in acquiring items necessary for sustained employment. Donations are invaluable in providing emergency financial aid to young individuals facing crisis situations, including temporary housing, food, and access to medical care.
