Prescription Pets Therapy Dogs

Prescription Pets Therapy Dogs bring the healing power of pets to many communities in Northern California.

We have been making regular visits to hospitals, skilled nursing, assisted living, the veterans home, schools and libraries in addition to being present during disaster relief since 2000.  

With the support from the community we can continue to enhance the health and quality of life for our Northern California community by sharing the value of the human animal bond through animal-assisted interactions.

The mission of the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program is to improve the literacy skills of children through the assistance of certified therapy teams as literacy mentors.

Prescription Pets Therapy Dogs have a strong R.E.A.D. program going to several schools in our community, as well as the Redding Library.  We are now involved with ESYAC (Eagles Soar Youth Activity Center) which provides roll models that build authentic relationships with students, impart life skills, provides new experiences and supports the kids as they discover their talents and passion.
