The Shasta Library Foundation provides critical support to the Shasta Public Libraries resulting in free programs, resources, and services available to the adults, children, and youth in Shasta County. Through fundraising, advocacy, and innovative programs, the Shasta Library Foundation strengthens the Shasta Public Libraries and promotes greater awareness of its valuable resources.

We realize our public library stays current and relevant by providing new print and digital books, online resources, and technology to meet our growing and changing informational needs. As the only county-wide organization providing supplemental funding to the Shasta Public Libraries in Redding, Anderson and Burney, the Shasta Library Foundation has contributed approximately $720,000 since 1991 to perpetuate learning today and for generations to come. We constantly explore ways to meet the more immediate needs of our library while continuing to grow our endowment to provide sustained future funding. We remain committed to responsible stewardship of your donations, our fundraising efforts and our advocacy for a quality public library.

Your contribution will:
-Help us fulfill the second half of our goal to provide school resources for the 26 school districts with over 26,000 students. We currently serve half the districts and students.
-Help triple the number of library books for children. We now have only 1 book per child, compared to the state average of 3 books per child.
-Help grow our collection. We have donated almost a quarter million dollars for books, but an ideal collection would be twice the size of what we have now.

"Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better." -Author Sidney Sheldon
