The Mission Statement:
Project Linus is a non-profit organization with a two-fold mission. First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
This Blanket Poem:
My heart was thinking of you, My hands knew what to do. This blanket grew out of the love I want to share with you. I hope it will keep you warm, and befriend you late at night. I hope you'll come to love it and be comforted by its sight. Let this blanket wrap you in friendship, and cover you in love. Because this blanket was thinking of you long before it was even done.
I am Debbie Childs the Project Coordinator for Project Linus of Shasta, Butte, Tehama, Siskiyou and Trinity Counties. We have a large group of members who make and donate blankets for this cause.
