This Giving Tuesday, you can make tax season a little less stressful—and a lot more hopeful—for low-income families in our community.

Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free, high-quality tax preparation so families don’t have to choose between paying a tax preparer and paying for basics like rent, food, or utilities. Trained volunteers help eligible households claim crucial credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit, putting real money back in their pockets.

For many families, a tax refund means:

• Catching up on overdue bills

• Keeping the lights and heat on

• Buying groceries and essentials

• Starting a small emergency savings fund
