The Whole Earth and Watershed Festival Organizing Committee is committed to promoting science and environmental education, clean energy innovations and products, and supporting local organizations and businesses that work to improve the health and livability of the north state. The Festival does this in the following ways:

• Environmental Stewardship Awards: The Festival honors exemplary educators and local classes, youth groups or clubs who are changing the eco ethos in their schools or
communities. In 2018, three (3) Educators and two (2) classes were honored.

• Children's Zone: Provides 10 different activities for children in preschool through 3rd grade designed to help children explore nature and learn about science through hand's-on
activities.

• Eco-Fashion Show features fashion designs in 2 categories:
* Upcycling~ The art of making new, one of a kind creations by combining and using existing items from your closet, your friends, the thrifts store, garage sales etc.
* Trashion~ Wearable creations and statement pieces made incorporating items that would otherwise be headed to the trash or recycle bin

• S.T.E.A.M. Tents (STEM+Arts) features innovative activities incorporating science, technology, engineering, arts, and/or mathematics especially for youth ages 8-18

• Keynote Theater: Featuring a series of talks by some of Redding's inspiring community leaders on a range of topics including local environmental challenges, developments, and
successes, a documentary screening, and a talk by our Keynote Speaker, working on the cutting edge of environmental and sustainable design and/or innovation.

• Networking for organizations working to promote healthy living, build healthy communities, and restore a healthy planet

• Supporting and promoting over 160 exhibitors representing business, non-profits, educational organizations, and community agencies by showcasing their ideas and products.

• A Zero Waste Event is our goal. Along with various recycling options for vendors and attendees at the event, the Festival offers green options getting to the event through our
partnership with RABA providing free shuttles from the downtown terminal as well as a free Bike Valet at the event site

• Outstanding live music on 2 stages throughout the event including local musicians, nationally acclaimed touring bands, and talented students from local schools

The Festival Executive Committee is made up of 6 organizations who are committed to educating, inspiring, and empowering children and adults to engage with the natural world, learn to live in a more sustainable manner, keep informed about environmental and community issues, preserve our vital local watersheds, and take a more active role in shaping our local communities. They work collaboratively throughout the year to ensure the success of the Whole Earth and Watershed Festival as an annual community event. The organizers have committed to keeping the event free to attendees and low cost for exhibitors so that there are no financial barriers to participate. They have been able to do this because of the generosity of event sponsors and donors and the willingness of the organizations to do this on a volunteer basis.
