Lewiston Community Association

Hello and welcome to our North State Giving Tuesday page!  Thank you in advance for considering our nonprofit on this "global day of generosity" when making your year-end giving decisions.  

OUR STORY

Lewiston Community Association (LCA) is a fairly new nonprofit 501(c)(3) established on February 8, 2024, in Lewiston, Trinity County, CA by active community members with a strong desire to see our community and local businesses flourish and thrive.  

We are 100% volunteer based (no salaries are paid) with a growing team dedicated to achieving our goals that are established in alignment with our mission by:

• Creating organized community engagement activities for the well-being of children and families; some of which include Movies in the Park, an annual Community Picnic/BBQ (that includes free food, games, music, and a barnyard petting zoo), and being the nonprofit sponsor for Pine Cove Marina's Kids (12 and under) Free Fishing Day on Lewiston Lake that included free hot dogs and prizes. 
• Revitalizing the Lewiston Community Park and other areas of Lewiston through cross-sector collaboration efforts.  Our nonprofit helps bridge financial and resource gaps created by local government budget shortfalls via our fundraising campaigns, grant programs, and volunteerism.  Recent projects have included painting the snack shack and dugouts at the ball field and planting trees in the Lewiston Community Park on Arbor Day.    
• Fostering a sense of community pride and shared responsibility for one's neighborhood, park, and overall beautification of Lewiston for locals and tourists alike.  Engaging youth and adults in organized events at the community garden, planning mural projects in public spaces that highlight our rich gold rush history and natural resources, and working with local government and/or charities for community initiatives like vehicle abatement programs that promote cleaner and safer streets in our neighborhoods.   
• Promoting tourism by hosting community events such as the Annual Lewiston Peddlers Faire, which is LCA's largest event-based fundraiser that attracts visitors to Lewiston from all over the North State.  LCA accepted the torch from another nonprofit in 2024 and now hosts the Lewiston Peddler's Faire which celebrated its 33rd anniversary in June 2025.  Our goal is to continue to grow this annual event and to host other event-based fundraisers that will play a vital role in boosting our local economy and supporting local businesses.          

Please explore our 2025 Projects tab for more information about this year's projects and achievements.  We are proud to have accomplished so many goals in our sophomore year as a nonprofit and plan to work harder in 2026 in our ongoing pursuit of our mission.  We couldn't have achieved so much without the support of our members, donors, sponsors, partners and volunteers.  A major shout-out to all of our supporters!

Your generosity will help fund revitalization projects that enhance the richness and charm of our rural mountain community, allow us to continue existing programs and develop additional organized gathering events that improve the well-being of children and families; while preserving our local heritage and creating an inviting destination for visitors.  

OTHER WAYS TO HELP 

While many people choose to donate money, Giving Tuesday is also about volunteering your time, donating goods, sharing your talents and skills, and offering your testimonials.  LCA is looking to grow our membership and volunteer base, fill a vacancy on our Board of Directors, and is always willing to accept in-kind donations that support our programs and organized gathering activities for the community.  Testimonials are valuable tools and resources for nonprofits and we welcome yours!

The mission of the Lewiston Community Association is to revitalize our local rural community of Lewiston, Trinity County, California. The organization serves as a catalyst for positive change within our local community while simultaneously promoting tourism to showcase the richness and charm of our area. We are dedicated to fostering community well-being, preserving local heritage, and creating an inviting destination for visitors.
