Lewiston Community Park Improvements
LCA is also fundraising for short term and long term park improvement projects by working in collaboration with the Lewiston Community Services District. As a nonprofit in the community that hosts several community engagement events at the park each year, it makes sense that our goals also focus on park improvements and expansion of services offered to residents and visitors alike. Park improvement goals align with our mission to revitalize our local rural community and foster community well-being. LCA is committed to working in collaboration with our Services District to help fill budget short falls to improve our park. As a local nonprofit we can provide needed assistance through fundraising campaigns and volunteerism.
The Lewiston Community Park is a vital asset to Lewiston because it acts as a central gathering place with its community garden, playground, and variety of sports offerings that include a basketball court, indoor pickleball court, softball field, and horse arena. The park provides social cohesion and promotes both outdoor and indoor physical activity and mental well-being. Additionally, a well maintained park fosters community pride and ownership among residents, leading to greater community engagement which is part of our mission. Some of the improvement projects LCA would like to support include possible mural projects, future arbor day tree plantings, improvements to the ball field that support Little League activities and foster adult ball tournaments that generate tourism, and a long term goal of adding a soccer park someday.
